Learn to express yourself through form in our Abstract Sculpture course.

 

  • Intensive course of 24 hours divided into 6 sessions of 4 hours each;
  • We will work the observation, looking for the essence of the shapes and pushing the expression of the volumes towards the message we want to convey;
  • You will obtain control in handling of sculptural techniques applied to clay;
  • You will exercise different finishing techniques to add up a plus of expression and dramatism to your ceramic sculpture.

The abstract sculpture course will give you a very clear idea about the possibilities of working in clay the expression of volumes and forms. Once you have finished it you can continue experimenting and exercising the techniques independently in your own studio or, if you don’t have one, take a membership with us.

How are we going to work:

  • The first day will make some exercises looking for the concept to be realized, we study references that can inspire us and we start making several sketches;
  • On the second day we will choose among the different sketches the one we want to go deeper into and we will start sketching and defining our project, from different angles: frontal, lateral, seen from above;
  • We will proceed to the construction of your project, using techniques such as clay carving, adding, removing, substracting;
  • We will spend the last day working on finishings and decorate our sculpture;
  • Once all the finishing touches are done we leave the piece to dry in the studio, we will fire it for you and we will give you a note once it’s finished and ready to be picked up.

Note that:

  • No previous experience is necessary
  • The classes are comprised of a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 10 people to ensure a personalized service
  • We provide all the materials and tools that your creative process may need, including work clothes
  • If requested, we also offer the course as an individual class (ask for price and availability)
  • If, at the end of this course, you decide to take one of our ongoing classes you do not need to pay the enrollment fee
