  • Regular and Irregular in Ceramic Sculpture – 20 hours workshop, divided into 5 sessions of 4 hours each, teached by renowned ceramic artist and profesor Shanyar Abdullah.
  • Learn how to create different expresive styles in ceramic sclpture by using slabs for building a geometric forms, and then combine it with irregular clay works.

The Regular and Irregular in Ceramic Sculpture workshop will open you an entire world of contrasts and complementarities. You will be able to add expresion to your further work as you will manage the dynamic of volumes and textures.

 

Know that you have the possibility to buy a membership in our studio during the development of the course. This way you can work more in depth the tecniques teached at the classes.

How are we going to work:

First day

  • Picturs and video will be presented for introducing the concept;
  • You will be guided to create a geometric shape with the help of paper templates. Once you are happy with it you will build it on clay, with the help of the slabing techinque;

Second day

  • Finishing the geometric piece while you proceed with searching for irregular textures and shapes in clay, contrasting and complementing the main form;

Third day

  • Connect all the parts between them and give them the final expression in volume;

Forth anf fifth day

  • Prepare colored slips and engobes and apply them on different surfaces of the work to outlines and add more dramatism to the volumes.

Note that:

  • Prior knowledge with ceramics is appreciated, but not required
  • Classes are comprised of a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 people to ensure personalized attention
  • We provide all the of the materials and tools that your creative process may need
