Modeling Course: Form, Construction, and Surface

An intensive 16-hour course to delve into modeling and decoration techniques in ceramics.

Through a practical and progressive program, you will develop unique pieces while working on form, volume, and surface.

The course is aimed at both beginners and those who wish to expand and consolidate their ceramics practice.

What you will work on

  • Theoretical introduction and project sketching
  • Working with different clay bodies: low-fire, stoneware, and porcelain
  • Modeling techniques: pinching, coiling, slab building, and solid-volume hollowing (Kurinuki)
  • Slip decoration techniques: slip trailing, marbling, sgraffito, mishima (inlay), stencils, brush, and sponge work
  • Analysis and presentation of completed work

  • Post-course process: Once the course ends, we will glaze and fire your pieces. We will notify you as soon as they are ready for collection.
  • Shipping: If you live outside of Barcelona, we can ship them to you (shipping costs are not included).
  • Included: All materials, tools, and workwear are provided.
  • Private option: This course can also be taken in a private (1-to-1) format.
  • Group size: Small groups to ensure close, personal guidance.
