Technique, Precision, and Style Development

An intensive 16-hour course designed to help you learn, improve, and perfect your skills on the pottery wheel.

The program adapts to each participant’s level and pace, allowing you to progress from the fundamentals to more complex forms and production-style throwing.

Aimed at both beginners and those looking to deepen their knowledge and gain greater technical control.

Course Progression

  • The pottery wheel course can be complemented by: The Raku Course, to explore finishes using fire and smoke.
  • Plaster Molds Course, to create series or editions from a prototype.
  • Development of a personal project or your own custom design piece.

What you will work on

Depending on your level, the course will adapt to one of these approaches—or a combination of both:

Beginner Level

  • Kneading and centering the clay
  • Building basic forms: cylinders, bowls, and plates
  • Trimming and finishing techniques
  • Handles and foot rings
  • Introduction to decoration with slips (engobes)
  • Troubleshooting common issues on the wheel

Advanced Level

  • Working with different clay bodies: terracotta, stoneware, and porcelain.
  • Two-part throwing and closed forms.
  • Lids and complex volumes.
  • Decorative techniques: slips, slip-trailing (barbotine), and sodium silicate.
  • Production throwing and developing a cohesive style.

Minimum Group
(3 people)

Minimum group: 3 people. Dates to be coordinated once the group is formed.

Individual format
(1-on-1)

€50/hour

The total number of hours is defined together, based on your own pace and personal goals.

  • Both formats include all materials, use of tools, and firings.
  • Let us know which dates you would prefer for the workshop.
  • The course is confirmed once a minimum group of three people is formed.
  • If you prefer not to wait or are looking for fully personalized guidance, this course – like all our training programs – can be taken in a 1-on-1 format, with a program designed specifically for you.
  • It is also possible to combine content from different courses and adapt them to your goals, availability, and working pace.
