16 hour workshop

Intensive Course in Ceramic Art

Learn to use the potter’s wheel and master modeling and decorating techniques in this 16-hour workshop.

  • The Intensive Course in Ceramic Art is designed for both beginners and advanced students. We work on personalized projects tailored to each participant’s level and objectives.
  • The course spans two consecutive weekends, comprising four sessions of four hours each.
  • You will learn to master techniques on the potter’s wheel as well as hand-building methods such as slab building, pinching, and coiling. You’ll finish your pieces by applying textures, slips, and engobes. Discover the relaxing and rewarding experience of working with clay, enjoying both the creative process and the final product: your own handmade and decorated pieces.

The Intensive Course in Ceramic Art comprises two main focuses: wheel throwing and hand-building techniques. While we recommend taking the entire course for a comprehensive experience, you have the option to concentrate solely on wheel throwing or hand-building by enrolling in just 8 hours (two sessions) of the course.

This course will equip you with the autonomy needed to create utilitarian or artistic pieces in your own studio. You will become familiar with the behavior of different clay bodies and learn to control the various stages of clay. The intensive nature of the course, along with the exercises we will undertake, are designed to advance your practice towards professionalism.

Once you are familiar with working on the potter’s wheel you may find of interest our raku workshop in which you will explore different finishes to add a touch of originality to your work.

We are very proud of our students creations. Visit our Instagram and Facebook pages to see what they’re up to!
